About Me

We go through life providing labels to categorize the group we belong to. My skin disorders first advertised themselves when I was in my teens. A rash that came and went on the inside of my elbow that became more persistent. I was then told it was a bit of dermatitis and was given betnovate to help "heal" it.....which now on reflection was a temporary heal.

When I came to the UK these rashes worsened and spread to both arms, neck, eyes and ears. The GP I went to described the symptoms as Atopic Dermatitis better known as eczema and prescribed different strengths of steroid creams and some waxy type paraffin moisture barrier cream.....and there was the start of my downward spiral into spreading the symptoms until nearly 25 years of suffering with widespread chronic "eczema" and the GPs not knowing what to do. They prescribed all sorts of steroid creams, anti-bacterial creams, anti-fungal creams, and so many different emollients (probably used most of the ones you're using). The GPs later on went on to tell me it is pretty much incurable.

At that point I started this blog to help heal myself and I am pretty much there. I don't take the advice of doctors and people who knew of someone else who applied some cream that magically made their symptoms disappear. I have learned to "listen for the triggers". Found the emollients were inadvertently aiding the symptoms! It's a cruel joke and my cycnical self believes the pharmaceutical companies have no interest in trying to heal you as your suffering is a source of revenue....let's say we are "repeat business".

I have taken a more holistic approach of healing because I don't want the quick temporary fix. I wanted a long term solution that healed me and that takes work! The best thing for me was starting this blog.

Anyhow my journey of self healing is described on the Home page.

I am happy to say, I no longer wake up lying on a bed of skin crumbs I'd scratched off during the night. My skin no longer smell.....my skin is smooth and soft, using typical off-the-shelf moisturising creams to manage the condition. And I only need to cream down once a day after my shower.

My skin is cured from being observant and avoiding irritants (can range from materials, dust, pet fur, emollients, cherries), as well as making dietary changes.

Feel free to leave me a comment or question. I will get back to you eventually. I will not post comments that want me to advertise their stuff as being miracle cures or creams that are apparently good for eczema.

This blog is to let you know you can be cured naturally and holistically.

Sat in Kuala Lumpur airport enroute back from New Zealand to England. Glad I found your site as I've been pretty dispondent about my ezecma, even simple things like getting your wallet out your pocket becomes a challenge. I don't think steroids do much but you become psychologically reliant on them.although I've never tried wrapping cling film over it.I've tried them all from weak over the counter hydrocortisone to stuff like cobitisol and betnavate. I think that they take the redness out of sores but perhaps it's wishful thinking? Hydrocortisone defiantly works on allergic rashes but these are unrelated to ezecma, I know got one now probably from a plant!not scratching ezecma is very important as it breaks the hives causing a large blister to form but easier said than done blowing or a gentle rub is better.I see no connection between ezecma and weather as I've had break outs in hot and cold countries. Strangely enough nor does it seem to run in my family although I can only go back to my parents and sister.I think also that due to it weakening the skin it allows fungal infections in to the feet.moccasin athletes foot is at a guess the one I've got. As it reacts to daktarin I'm guessing it's fungal, well a mixture of fungal and ezecma, and generally only oral antifungal creams will fight it,although daktarin does destroy it where it can get into the skin through cracks.

Hi - you tried to contact me on my blog via a comment. I don't provide my email but always happy to help another fellow sufferer. Seems you are going all in the right way. Thought would recommend you at least go out in the daylight during lunch. Found vit D helped a little but not as much as the sunshine. I force myself to go out running during the lunch break no matter what the weather.

Your neck looks like how mine used to be.

Anyhoo - written a blog post to help you use a framework to get yourself back into order. Wishing you much wellness to get your skin back

R-) xx
